Hey guys,
How's everybody doing?
It's been about a week since we got back from camp and I've finally caught up on some sleep! Camp was tiring but God did some amazing things out there!
For those of you who weren't able to go to camp, this year's theme was Upgrade your Faith. Our key scripture for the week of camp was 2 Peter 1:5-9:
"For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins."
I really like verse 8 "For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ." The words "increasing measure" flashed like blinking lights when I read this. Increasing measure means that we need to continuously "upgrade" or improve these qualities in order to grow and understand God's will for our lives. If we're not continuously improving these qualities then we're not growing.
This speaks to me personally because I know I need to improve on several of these qualities, and life can sometimes make these improvements difficult. That being said, I'm pressing on and letting the Lord lead me daily. Being in the Word and in prayer daily helps tremendously!
I just want to encourage all of you to hold strong to God's word daily and be in prayer. Keep those lines of communication open, and guard your time with him, because distractions will come.
God Bless,
Andrea
